If you have spent any time in the New York area you know it is the definitive take-out coffee cup design. Called the Anthora, it was created by Leslie Buck. A retired paper cup company executive who passed away this week at the age of 87.
A salesman with no formal training in art or design, he created the new design in the mid 1960s for his employer the Sherri Cup company, who has since sold over 500 million of the cups.
